I know everything is thinking about who they're gonna vote for in the General Election and shit, but there is something else that concerns me --- "How We Vote"
My problems with our voting system are as follows:
1. Voting Age - It should be 17. There are many 17 year olds in college, driver licenses, and even living by themselves. They need to voice their vote.
2. Voting Day - This is probably the worse aspect of our voting system. Why the fuck do we only vote one fucking day for? I can't think of one reason why we shouldn't make it a "Voting Week" except if you want biased election results. People have work, people have other obligations, and especially it today's fast-paced society we need more than one fucking day to vote.
3. Voting Way - Ok I know most of you won't agree with this, but whatever. We need to establish a way to vote online. We have Social Security Numbers and Drivers Licenses for identification, and fingerprint and other biometric means to establish the person. You can file alot of government documents online and even pay bills and other "personal" matters online. We need to be able to vote online. Blah blah identify theft, hackers, legitimacy blah blah blah. There is way to do it, but the gov't is scared that the 'best' candidate will win (cough, Ron Paul). Even if there are some "breaches" in internet security, the amount of people that would vote that didn't before completely outweigh any illegitimate voting. One vote per SSN. Simple. And thats saying that the system we have now is perfect :P. We can put a man on the moon, we can destroy a country with one bomb, we can perform crazy espionage on our own citizens --- but we can't make a voting system that works. As according to Hillary Clinton "SHAME ON YOU!" (but pointing the finger at the US Government.
If we can fix all of these things, our generation, and our future generation will have the most accurate voting system in the world.
